China Arrests Three Citizens from the Philippines on Charges of Espionage
Three people from the Philippines have been detained in China on suspicion of espionage, following recent arrests of purported Chinese spies in Manila.
China has apprehended three citizens from the Philippines on allegations of espionage, as per reports.
These detentions took place just a week after Manila arrested five Chinese individuals on similar espionage accusations.
State media released photos of the three being interrogated by authorities, along with their names.
The individuals have been named as David Servañez, Albert Endencia, and Nathalie Plizardo.
Reports suggest they were supposedly enlisted by a spy master known as Richie Herrera, whose location remains unconfirmed.
This incident is part of a wider trend, wherein Manila has detained multiple people suspected of spying on behalf of China.
